此外，位于安哥拉首都40公里以外的维亚纳市区朋耶稣，罗安达新国际机场将成为一个地区交通中心，主要竞争对手是南非约翰内斯堡。安哥拉新机场将成为撒南非洲第二大机场，主要目的是作为飞往如下国家旅客的中转站，如民主刚果、刚果共和国、纳米比亚、赞比亚、乌干达、肯尼亚，甚至坦桑尼亚。此机场每年的货物吞吐量将达到60万吨，停机坪的面积将达到58.2万平方米，回旋区面积达5125平方米。罗安达机场的航站楼将有31个登机桥，其中20个将用于国际航班，11个用于国内航班。
